Dalmeny Beach

New Years Eve was a bit of a scorcher. Consequently, the beach was the place to be. By 7.30 in the evening, things had cooled enough to make venturing outside very enjoyable. Nick and I ducked over to the beach so that he could have a swim in the lake!

Christmas 2010

This year, we traveled to Sydney to celebrate Christmas with the Carter Family. Stephen bought Nanny Pat over from the hospital where she has been staying and Peter, Sue & Thomas Carter came up from Nowra.  We spent the rather warm day, unwrapping presents, eating, drinking, swimming and playing backyard cricket. We had a thought for Luke Carter who is currently serving on the HMAS Melbourne in Somalia and for Damon and his wife Deanne who were unable to make it over from Perth.
John and I decided to drive back to Narooma late on Christmas afternoon so that we could all wake up in our own beds on Boxing day, thus successfully eluding the notorious Boxing Day Traffic. It was a long & tiring drive home but well worth it!

September in Review

Nick visits Questacon!

I had been promising Nick a visit to Questacon in Canberra for several years. We finally got the chance last week. On our way to Sydney, I had to stop off in Canberra to pick up max from Brodie's place so Nick and I decided to factor in a visit with my sister, Gabrielle and Questacon. Nick enjoyed exploring the various galleries. We both agreed that the sideshow was the best! Overall, it was an enjoyable outing. It's not often that I get the opportunity to spend quality time with just one child!

Carroll Day Antics

Emily enjoyed this year's Carroll Day at School. Traditionally, the Year Eleven students run the activities and dress according to a given theme. This year's theme was cartoon Characters. As you can see, Em & her friends decided to come as sailor Moon Characters. Their costumes came from China via the internet! It was alot of fun for them!

The Wedding Singer

This year, the biannual Carroll College Production was the eighties style hit musical: The Wedding Singer. I agreed to produce the show and was happy to work alongside Director, Sonia Jones and Musical Director, Ros Maher.Luckily enough, Emily happliy scored one of the lead roles - Rosie the rocking grandmother. Last term saw our Sundays on the road travelling up to school for rehearsal. After all the work, the end result was well and truly worth it! The kids excelled with a great show. Emily, of course, shone on stage (we all know how much she loves performing) and was quite sorry when the show finished. We were all exhausted and spent the first couple of days of our Winter break recouperating from it all! Would I do it all again? You'll have to wait @ see.
